Even though a tragic turn of events befell the Petty family in 2000 with the death of Adam Petty in a racing accident, it is the Petty family that is to be thanked for the desire to help children. By the insight of Pattie and Kyle Petty, the parents of Adam, the Victory Junction Camp was co-founded with Paul Newman and the Hole In The Wall Camps. Thanks to Richard and Lynda Petty, Adam’s grandparents, for donating the necessary acreage to start the camp in Randleman, NC.

In August of 2003, our District voted to support Victory Junction Gang Camp by sponsoring one of the cabins at the camp. $250,000 was pledged to be paid at $50,000 a year for five years.

An annual golf tournament is held by NC District West each year to support Victory Junction.
